You will need a tape measure, a non-padded bra, mirror and somebody who can help with these measurements.
The metric bra sizing system consists of two measurements: the under bust measurement and cup size (volume).
For example, let’s consider the bra size 75B.
The difference between the full bust measurement and the under bust determines the cup size.
75 – Under bust measurement
В (Cup size) = (measurement 2) – (measurement 1)
In the chart below, you will find the difference (between FM and UM) for each of the cup sizes:
As we have already established, to calculate the bra size, we need 2 main measurements.
1. Make your measurements wearing a well-fitted, soft and thin unpadded bra. The bra сup should not deform the breast but rather lift and not be too loose or binding under the chest.
2. Under bust Girth – please note that when measuring the Under bust Girth, the tape measure should tightly encircle the torso.
Full bust Girth – conversely, when measuring the Full bust Girth, the tape measure should lie freely, not constricting the breast tissue. Measure strictly across the fullest part of your breast.
3. Measure both girths using a tape measure, making sure the tape is parallel with the ground. Look at yourself in the mirror from the side or ask someone to help you.
For example, our measurements:
Under bust girth = 74cm
Full bust girth = 89сm
The nearest centimetre value, rounded to the nearest multiple of 5 will be the first digit in the bra size according to the metric sizing system.
Under bust measurement = 74cm rounded to 75.
Now, let’s calculate the cup size (breast volume) and determine the corresponding letter. Calculate the difference: 89-74=15.
Moving forward, look at cup size table we identify it as B.
In total, our size is 75B.

1. Start measuring the breast from the front point of the underwire of a bra (innermost point of breast) and finish at the side point in the armpit area (outermost point of breast), as shown in the photo above. It is better to take measurements of both left and right breasts’ curves and calculate the average between the two measurements.
2. Next, following the chart below, specify your cup size.
For example: if we have length of the horizontal curve = 194mm, according to the table, we understand that our cup size is 80А/75В/70С, as it falls within the range of 192-198mm.
1. You need to take the most perfectly fit underwire for your breast that you have and calculate its Diameter.
Figure 2 illustrates the correct way to do this. You must accurately fit your underwire into the circle and then determine its Diameter. The diameter of the circle obtained will be the Diameter of your underwire.
Figure 1 demonstrates how not to do it. The line connecting the ends of the underwire is NOT its Diameter!
2. Next, following the chart below you specify your cup size.
For example: Diameter of your underwire = 123mm, according to the table, we understand that our cup size is 80А/75В/70С, as it falls within the range of 120-125mm.
Waist Measurement (Girth) – 1(WM)
Hip Measurement (Girth) – 2(HM)
Hip measurement – line across the fullest part of your hips. As viewed from the picture above, is the greatest protuberance point of the hip.
Waist measurement – line across the greatest indentation points of the torso. You can tie a string around your waist, it will naturally settle in the position you need.
Measure both girths using a tape measure, making sure the tape is parallel with the floor. Look at yourself in the mirror from the side or ask someone to help you.
